I'm an idiot!

Sadly, this is based on a true event. Um, multiple true events.

This is a pretty traditional cartoon... black ink on white paper, the only grays created with hatching. I've always liked the simplicity and professionalism of plain inking... while a huge number of effects can now be done in Photoshop, it seems to be a huge step away from the animation cels and Sunday newspapers that defined "cartoons" to my childhood mind. And you lose a lot of the quick readability when you add elaborate shading to a simple gag strip.

Although I've doodled quite a few comics over the years (in middle school I even self-published a volume of them), and I am a great fan of many online comics, I have no desire to start a webcomic of my own. The main reason for this is that I myself am one of the fickle fans, and I know what it takes to have a good webcomic --- so I recognize that I'm missing a key ingredient: the time to draw it. My webcomic would be one big hiatus. So you could consider this it, in fact. ;)

I have considered finding other ways to use my skills as a cartoonist; at some point during my stay at UGA I'd like to draw some cartoons for the Rude and Bleak, although I find myself dwelling much more on daily campus life than current political issues.
