Panda (or Panama)
May
2001 -
I strongly considered sending Panda with Millie
and Fortune... but she was the quiet little baby, the smallest
once Jason started growing, and I couldn't part with her. She
was named "Panama" because I thought that her markings
resembled a map of Mexico and South America - illogically, we
abbreviated this "Panda," and the name stuck.
Panda-bear is a quiet psycopath. Most of the time, she's
a sweet little thing - but when she decides to be destructive,
watch out! She once ripped up a hammok in just under three hours,
much to the distress of Chase and Joanna, who wanted to sleep
in it. (She dragged them out by their ears.)

Panda mayhem.
Panda is also the criminal mastermind who figured out how
to open the cage lid from the inside. Once every few weeks (just
to keep us on our toes!) she'll release her siblings. Usually,
the rats all climb onto the mantlepiece to throw things off,
eat candles, and hide in decorative pottery.
