Sy Snoodles
April 2001 - June 2001

Sharon named Snoodles after an obscure Star Wars character. All I know is that "Snoodles" is a great name for a wiggly little rat. Snoodles was born tame, and cuddling in Sharon's lap grinding her teeth only a few hours after being liberated from the pet store feeder tank. She was a capped rat with the cutest markings --- look at that little spot on her forehead! Unfortunately this little spot faded when she got her adult coat.

Snoodles was very active and she and Chase spent a great deal of time tumbling across the cage, much to the distress of the mild-mannered (and at the time pregnant) Joanna.

Like her sister Molly, Snoodles suddenly became very sick and died less than twenty-four hours later. Nearly $200 of vet care failed to save her but calmed our fears that it would affect the new babies; x-rays revealed that Snoodles' heart was an amazing inflamed mass and it was incredible that she had lasted this long. She died happily after overexerting herself in one last playtime with Sharon in early June 2001.
