Creating an Employee Evaluation (continued...)
At the bottom of the page you will notice a Score On This Item box:
Scoring is simple.
To try it, click on the first core responsibility that is shown in blue in the tree.
Review the job description expectations and your notes.
Determine whether the person's performance
is unsuccessful, needs improvement, successful, or outstanding.
Click on that choice and the appropriate score will be put into the tree.
You should always write something in the Comments box to define
why you scored the person as you did.
Look at the appropriate item in the tree on the left.
You will now see a score beside it.
Select the first core responsibility and score it "unsuccessful" or
"needs improvement."
A window will pop up and TIP will ask you for a Performance Improvement Plan.
This is a place to identify what will be done to help the person achieve successful
performance.
Once you enter data here and click OK, this becomes a permanent part of the
evaluation (although of course you can delete it).
It becomes a section of the tree at the bottom, shown in green.
Select the next core responsibility.
Score it as successful.
If you look at the tree, you will notice a score of 3 by this item.
Select the next core responsibility and score it outstanding.
A window will pop up and TIP will ask you whether you can really
justify giving this person a score of outstanding (4).
If you say no, the score will be changed to 3.
Once you score each of the core responsibilities,
an overall score for Core Responsibilities will appear
in the tree.
Score behavioral expectations the same way.
Once you complete scoring every item that needs a score,
you will see an overall score in the top section with the
employee's personal information.
You have now successfully completed your evaluation form.
